Astrology is the study of the positions and aspects of heavenly bodies with a view to predicting their influence on the course of human affairs. A magician uses these influences to find the peak time to produce a work of magick, for the knowledge of self-psychology, and the observance of nature and his connectedness with the macrocosm. The work being formed and understood during the proper astrological influences will be that much stronger. Traditionally, the science of astrology has been utilized in magick by producing a work during the proper planetary hour. Along with the planetary hours you may want to use the according Moon phase and aspect(s) to the Moon or by using the Angels as well as other methods. It may seem rather obtrusive to try and accomodate these requirements before a work of magick is produced. Many believe that the use of Astrology within ceremonial magick is useless and overdone. The simple observance of the cosmos on a daily basis is usually enough for the layman magician. Although, the observance of the cosmic influences for the magician during ritual will give infinite knowledge on the nature and later reflections of the work at hand. The utilization of the astrological influences with ceremonial and earth magick will only serve to strengthen the will and imagination of the magician. ~ Mazohir ~ |
