Darkness Of The Cemetery

Outside the world is sunny and bright
But in her world it's cold and dark
She's not aware of living things
As she lays in the box now her home

She lived in a world full of sorrow
Pain becoming just too much to bear
She withdrew to live inside herself
Now she lays with an emotionless stare

Too many heartbreaks, too many regrets
No one to return love she eagerly gave
Her life slipped quietly into darkness
No flowers placed on her modest grave

Now she finds the peace she sought
Or so she wished and desperately needed
She is trapped in a body that should have died
But very much alive and seemingly paralyzed outside

Screaming but no one hears her
Listening and can't respond
Seeing through eyes that are closed
Reaching out and no body knows

Her touch once warm and loving
Now feels with no reaction
Her kisses so soft and tender
Are not received or remembered

Insanity creeps into her prison
Her prison of silk and satin cloth
She hears someone say she looks so at peace
No! She screams and cries for her release

One by one they pass on by
Some are crying and asking why
Some lean and feel her cold unresponsive hand
Their feelings are too late and they don't understand

I'm here she attempts to scream
Paralyzed hands try to claw a way out
To see and respond her blinded eyes try
Suddenly oh God she knows the reason why

In a moment of saddness
Just another moment alone
She took her own life
The only thing that was her own

They tried to save her
The frantic rush was to no avail
And now you know the story
To her sad and lonely tale
