Economics of Human Resources
Fall 2001

This is the first Economics class that I've taken in over ten years! Ha!

Well, I decided to start to prepare for writing my thesis and getting certified for Econ in Wisconsin. I need six credits, and this will satisfy three.

This class is held on Tuesday nights, and the professor is Dr. Sue Donahue. It has been very interesting, and it's kind of funny; if you had told me ten years ago that I'd be taking an Economics class -- much less a graduate level econ class, much less ENJOYING it -- I would have thought you were crazy. It has been really neat to understand what's going on (when I look around the room, I see a lot of blank stares...), plus even be interested in it!

Most of the assignments involve reading case studies of companies published by the Harvard Business School. The class deals with a number of things such as hiring and pay, incentive and layoffs, etc., but from an economic point of view rather than a solely human resources POV.

Will post links as time permits!
