The Ambient Butterfly

When I was walking through an allotment in July 2003, there were a lot of butterfly about. I had a camera , but the white tee-shirt I was wearing scared the insects off before I could get near enough to snap them.

The same day in the British news, it was announced that Oxford Ragwort was to be made a notifiable poisonous weed. So I thought a picture of that plant would be worth a shot.

Just after the composing and focusing for my intended snap, by some ambient serendipity a butterfly landed on the yellow Ragwort.

This fleeting glimpse of life was aesthetically ,more pleasing than "art" itself.
