The Old bridge at Musselburgh. 1999/2000

In late 1999 my Mother up in Musselburgh wasn't too well. I asked my eldest Brother to take a few snaps of the bridge, so I could draw it for her. This was (symbolically) the place my Mothers Dad`s ashes were scattered onto the River Esk 15 years previously. My mother only saw this painting half finished about March 2000. I messed up the sky, and didn`t finish it until I thought of using acrylic paints in June.

My Mum rapidly fell gravely ill and died in hospital on the 13 June, as we brothers rushed up from Surrey to join our Dad at her bedside. The picture is hung in her memory on Dads wall at Musselburgh.
