This oil study from November 1999 is of course not a Real Life Painting. But it is my first painting with a brush for nearly 25 years. I painted it in a vain effort to show a former Royal Academy Artist friend he wasn`t wasting the handmade oil paints he gave me on seeing my Brighton Peir watercolour pencil/pastel painting. The picture source is Desmond Morris`s MANWATCHING, p.295. It is an experiment of under painting using the complementary colour.

The picture is (I think) on a wall in Italy. I lent it to a friend. When I found out some time later his Roman girlfriend was expecting their child, I gave it to them for that child.
