Check breathing: look listen and feel up to 10 seconds. |

breathing present : recovery position. |

no breathing: call 999 and give 2 effective breaths, check airway and ensure head tilt and chin lift. |
||||||||||||||||||||
Assess circulation, movement/pulse up to 10 sec. (carotids) |
||||||||||||||||||||
circulation present: breath for one minute and reassess |
||||||||||||||||||||
no circulation: give chest compression's: 100 per minute (position yourself vertically above the victim's chest and, with your arms straight press down on the sternum to depress it between 4-5 cm.). Single rescuer:- 2:15, two rescuers:- 1:5. |
||||||||||||||||||||
Continue resuscitation until:- (i) qualified help arrives, (ii) the victim shows signs of life, (iii) you become exhausted. |
