Brumby, an extract from Whites Gazeteer and directory of Lincolnshire 1842

Brumby, a village and township, in the parish, and 1 mile S. of Frodingham, contains 160 souls, and about 2852 acres of land, including 1200 acres of open common and moorland, chiefly in the vale of the Trent.  It belongs mostly to Lord Beauchamp, and W. C. W. Clarke and Chas. Winn, Esqrs.  The latter is lord of the manor.  Here is a Wesleyan and also a Primitive Methodist Chapel.
