Crosby, an extract from Whites Gazeteer and directory of Lincolnshire 1842

Crosby, a village and township in the parish,and 1.5 miles N. of Frodingham,has often improperly been returned with Bottesford Parish, and is in the north division of this wapentake.  it has 199 inhabitants, and 1506 acres 2r. 28p. of land, mostly the property of Sir Robert Sheffield, and Henry Healey Esq.  the former is lord of the manor, and the latter improriator;  But the titles were commuted for allottments at the enclosure, in 1809, when 66 acres were awarded to the vicar.  Here is a Primitive Methodist Chapel.
