Daves gorge.
Erosion formed this impressive form in Banded Iron Formation (Bif). They were formed around 2 billion years ago by there first plantlike lifeforms (cyanobacteria). The iron (Fe) was to this time still in solution in the sea water. The new produced Oxygen bounded the Fe and was deposited as Oxide (the same material as an old car: rust)

This nice refreshing pool invites for a swim. The water was a little bit cold for me when i was there. But in summer its a must, when the air gets as hot as 40C for days..
The walls look like as if they were build by lego.

Tom Price mine
The huge amount of Iron attracts not only tourist but also geologist s. This truck can carry something like 200t. The wheels are 3.5m high. If you look closely you might see the little point in the cabin of the truck, that's the driver. (Here it's loaded with charcoal, probably the carbonized remains of the algae).Of this mine a train leaves 3times a day, which is 2.5km long and pulls 20.000 tons of ore.

Modern cowboys
They use motorbikes, jeeps and helicopters to chase the cows. The area was huge and VERY dusty.
