I suppose an update is in order.. Hmm.. *thinks*

Well, I discovered why Roseanne was growing faster than Big Ben. Big Ben turned out to be a big fat yellow round bumpy gourd. *smirks* Attempts to take pictures of it has failed. It's yellow and it's reflecting the sunlight harshly. In the shadows, It's too dark. I need a good Digital Camera, I tells ya.

With all the rain that has been happening, I discovered at least... 5 or 6 tiny gourds/pumpkins that broke off. I think they were't fertilized because of all the rain and bees unable to do anything. However, I have high hopes for another pumpkin since a new one has started to grow, getting thicker so I may have a third pumpkin.

The growth of this mound is HUGE. It's never been like that before but this is because it's my first time burying pumpkins and gourds into the mound that it overwhelmed everything. But, personally, I was hoping for more than just 2 gourds and 2 pumpkins.

The picture earlier in my journal of the yellow gourd with green bottom? I had tons upon tons upon tons of them but they always appeared in 2 or 3's and then end up missing the next day. I only have one huge one and I think the *only* reason it survived was because it was buried in all the mass of leaves while the others were opened for.. I don't know.. birds to eat them or something.

My pineapple plant.. Still growing! While the old leaves looked like someone took a weedwacker to it, It's grown at least 7 or 8 new leaves. It is *completely* nifty to try something new and it's taking. I really can't wait till far down the road when I can stick it in a bag of apples to get it to bloom for a new pineapple.

Yup, I know you're sick of hearing about gardening stuff but... tough. That's all I care to talk about right now, not even that either. I updated it today so... :p

Sorry about the size. When I shrank them, they lost a lot of details so I left them big.

That is one mound, looking at it from one direction and another.

I believe it's about.. eh.. 8 feet across with all the vines(while the mound itself is barely 3 feet.)

*snickers* From one direction, you can see a lot of the other gardens. There is Corn, Squash, Cucumbers, .. I think Zucchinis. In the kitty litter buckets were potatoes (wanted to avoid a whole mess of fire ants should we dig up the potatoes.) but they failed. I think they're cold-weather types of plants. Gonna try it again really early next spring.

On the right where the small blue watering can is, in there are peanuts. I also learned that peanuts really grow in those hot humid areas such as in South America somewhere. I decided to try anyways. There is growth there.

The red and white flowers.. I can't remember what they are.. It's a bushy type meant for hummingbirds (works like a miracle). To the left is the tri-tower birdfeeder. Damn squirrels figured a way up on it even though it stands in the middle of nowhere. The green mass on top of a lattice board in between squirrel feeder and flowers is Wisteria. I lost a lot of pictures but if you're curious to see tons of flowers it had this spring, I'll try to find one. It was the first time ever that there was TONS of flowers (because hurricanes finally stopped hitting us so all that growth at top was finally settling in .. instead of falling over and starting all over.)

And yes, Wisteria vines ARE invasive. I'm pretty sure there are roots all under the ENTIRE backyard. Often times, a sprout will pop up in the middle of the blue but it'll get mowed over. Heck, one popped right up in the middle of my pumpkin mound last year! It's beautiful when let it grow up things but it's invasive, It'll grow all underground and you'll never ever ever get rid of it once it's taken hold.

I took the pictures as fast as I could. I was bombarded by mosquitos. Argh. Living in a swampy area is no fun.

Big Grandaddy

All right, There he is. As you can see, tons of growth all over him. I don't know why he turned orange so fast but hopefully he'll keep sticking in there.

Big Ben

Yup.. Poor thing turned out to *not* be a pumpkin but rather a gourd. As you can see (as best as you can), It's yellow and while it's sorta smooth, It has lots of bumps on it. I did a lot of searching online and honestly can not find out what it is specifically. It's just lumped into "ornamental gourds" and that's about it.

Roseanne

Stop laughing! Roseanne rawks! :p hehehe. Yup, She also turned orange as well. I think she might be bigger than Big Grandaddy but I haven't done any measuring.

Venus

As I said, the rain caused a lot of (which I believe wasn't fertilized) little dime-sized pumpkins/gourds to fall off. However, The one I was talking about in the recent entry.. I've taken the time to name her Venus. It keeps getting bigger. If it is a pumpkin, I'll have to lay the fencing down flat because the vine intertwined into the fencing and the pumpkin is growing at the very top. Yikes.

Brutus

This one just got bigger than a dime so I believe Brutus will make it as well.

So, There it is. My PumpGourd Mound in a flash for this moment.
