What is EFR and how do I activate it?
EFR stands for Enhanced Full Rate codec. It will give you much better sound quality when enabled at the expense of battery consumption - talktime is reduced by about 5%.
To activate it enter *3370# then reboot your phone
To deactivate it enter #3370# then reboot your phone
You can also choose to use Half Rate codec. This enabled will give you reduced sound quality but give you around 30% more talktime.
To activate it enter *4720# then reboot your phone
To deactivate it enter #4720# then reboot your phone
Note: These codes may not work on all models of Nokia phones
I have heard that you can use your Nokia as a radar detector! How?
Another big rumour! Completely untrue! I can say definitely that it is not a radar or speed trap detector! Nokia would have absolutely no reason to implement this into there phones. To activate it anyway follow these steps:
1. Enter Menu
2. Select Settings
3. Select Securtiy Settings
4. Select Closed User Group
5. Select On
6. Enter 00000
7.Press Ok
8. Now clear back to normal display and give it a few seconds, your phone will display a radar icon! (it is in fact the Closed User Group icon)
