Q. What's the Nokey Box? |
A. The Nokey Box is a piece of hardware dedicated to unlocking Nokia mobile phones. Its a very expensive piece of equipment and can be purchased from: http://www.alcom-systems.co.uk It connects to your PC and then you use software (called Nokall) to control the box, you then connect the mobile phone to the box (using the apropriate cable) and use the software to unlock your phone. You can find the software (useless without the box) at: http://www.zulea.com I believe this company make the Nokey Box. Note: There is also another piece of software titled 'Nokall' - this piece is nothing to do with the Nokey Box, its a different piece which can be used to unlock old Nokias (not new ones) - its actual title is 'Nokia Unlocker' |

Q. What is Sim Clock Stop and does it give you free calls/sms? |
A. Certainly not! This is one of the great rumours/myths that circulate the newsgroup! When I first found out I was intrigued, I checked my balance (PAYG) and I entered it and then made a call. Afterwards, I checked my balance again and it turned out that I was charged as my balance had gone down, same applies for SMS. The code to enter is: *#746025625# (*#sim0clock#) The 'sim clock' controls the instruction rate of the microprocessor inside your SIM just like your CPU has a clock. Just like your computer, where the motherboard (on newer computers) can stop the CPU clock to save power, your mobile phone does the same to your SIM to save battery (clock running spends much more battery - not as much as transmitting, but still alot) Older processors didn't support clock stopping, they'd freeze. With SIMs its the same thing, the *#sim0clock# only allows you to see if your SIM supports its clock to be stopped. It won't actually stop it, the phone will take care of that when the SIMs attention is required. As an additional note, the *#sim0clock# only shows YOU if the clock can be stopped or not, the phone itself knows this on power up, you don't have to type that code. |

If you have turned the T9 dictionary off or have reset the phone to its factory defaults and the T9 dictionary is no longer there, to enable it again, simply goto Messages/Write Message/Options/Dictionary and select your language from the list - the T9 dictionary will now be enabled again. Q. How can I change the colour of the lights (LEDs) on my phone? |
It is possible to replace the green LEDs in your phone with various other colours. The most popular replacement colour being blue. For more information check out this site. It has LED installation guides for various phones. It is a difficult job and involves soldering very tiny amounts, I would suggest that you only attempt this if you have a good knowledge of electrical components and soldering. |
