I've added some pictures and info on friends' engines that I've met over the net. I've added them here because 1) they have some of the same engines I do or 2)
they have interesting engines or 3) they have engines with interesting stories! |

First is Russell Gilbert from Mildura, Austrailia which is in the far North West corner of Victoria. He sent me pictures of a couple of his engines. The first
is his Stover KA, known as a KA Cooper. He related the following about it:
"It was imported by the Cooper Engine companay of Australia and Cooper rebadged them with there own name. I am told that this particular base on the engine is normally
found on engines that have portable shearing plants attached. The base is slightly extended past the rear of the engine and has extra holes fitted for attacting the over the head structure to support the shearing gear. The fellow that I accquired this
engine from told me his father purchased it to work a saw bench for cutting fire wood. It still has "made in USA" embossed onto the side. It was siezed tight when I got it, I pulled it down totaly, cleaned and painted every little piece and found it to
be in quite good condition. It runs really nice and is a favourite in my collection."

Here is the second engine he sent me pictures of. It is a Blackstone sideshaft oil engine. The Blackstone is made in England. He believes it was built in 1907-1908. He
said about the engine: "The engine lived in a shed all its life and is in really good condition. It was mounted on a concrete base, not the transport you see in the pic's. The guys who found it put it on this transport which I have modified somewhat to
siut the engine better. I have already shortened it 3ft. Fitted the original cast iron muffler to it and really now only need to get a water tank made to suit. As far as things to fix, I am having a welding job done as we speak on the carbie, and the
feul pump was seized and I nearly have that fixed as well. There was no feul tank with the engine but I have a small square briggs and straten tank that will do the job nicely. I will mount it low on the transport and If anybody complains about it well
thats just stiff!
