LOWES IS UNAMERICAN

Recently the local Lowes changed all signage in their stores to bi-lingual: english and spanish. I find this offensive to say the least. Why should our American culture change to accomodate people who come here for the benefits and do not want to learn our language. After my purchase I was requested by the cashier to leave feedback for Lowes by going to their website. Below is the email coorespondence that took place and their lame answer. I would urge everyone who cares that American culture is going by the wayside to boycott Lowes as well as other companies that encourage non-english speaking people to remain english ignorant. I have already complained to Meijer for the same thing as well as to Verizon for having to "Press 1 to continue in english". VOICE YOUR OPINIONS ON THIS SUBJECT! If people do not object to changes like this we'll keep going down. Remember the following:

All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. Edmund Burke

KEEP AMERICAN CULTURE ALIVE!!!!!!

My initial comments to Lowes:

I frequent Lowes as it is close to me and usually has what I need. Several months ago I walked into my local Lowes to find that all signs in the store had been changed to bi-lingual with english and spanish. This is the United States of America, an ENGLISH speaking country. People that come here to live are supposed to learn our language within a reasonable amount of time, we are not supposed to change our culture so they can speak their native language. All four of my grandparents did, they came from Germany and spoke no english. I resent the fact that Lowes has included spanish on all signs, product descriptions and other areas of the store. Why must we change our culture for people who are too lazy to assimilate with us? If they want to speak spanish let them live in a country where spanish is the common language. I realize what I am saying is not politically correct, but thats too bad. Its time that political correctness go out the window with other bad habits.
I have a Home Depot and a Menards within a stones throw of Lowes and I will now shop there instead simply because of your bi-lingual policy. If you want my business back, which is considerable, you will get rid of these ridiculous signs. Decide who you want to sell to: people that support America by speaking the language or people that don't do either and have no pride in being American.

The initial Lowes response:

Dear Mr. xxxxx (I added the x's - it had my name)
Thank you for your recent inquiry with Lowe's Companies, Inc. Lowe's believes that the number one priority of the company is to focus on the customers' needs and find ways to meet those needs. Many of Lowe's Hispanic/Latino customers speak little or no English. Helpful signs in Spanish are just one way we are meeting the needs of this rapidly growing customer segment. Thank you for your suggestion, and if you have any further questions or comments, please send them to wecare@lowes.com.

My response to Lowes:

While I appreciate your prompt reply, I have to say that I am very dissapointed with your reasoning. What you are in essence saying is that speaking english in America is not important and getting every dollar you can from anyone is. It sad when dollars are more important than anything else in your business. As stated before I will no longer shop at Lowes unless your policy changes. I will, as well, spread your answer to my friends and acquaintences and encourage them to do the same. I will also put a non-American support message on my personal web site stating your policy. It's too bad, I did a lot of business with Lowes in the past.

Lowes final response (what a crock of smelly stuff):

Dear Mr. xxxxx:
Thank you for visiting www.lowes.com. We appreciate your interest in Lowe's and thank you for expressing your concerns with us. Lowe's is committed to maintaining a business environment of inclusion for our customers and business partners. This commitment was supported in February 1998 with the creation of the Lowe's Fairness Programs. Valuing diversity is a strategic priority for Lowe's. This is important to Lowe's not only because it is good human relations, but also because it is good business. Again, thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We will definitely pass along your comments to the proper department. If you have any other questions or comments, please contact us at CustomerCare@lowes.com.

Gosh, doesn't it just make you all tingly that Lowes values diversity???
