The story of Keith Edwards is an odd one.  Keith was born on August 25th, 1975 in to Carmen and Hitchcock Edwards.  Hitchcok was a successful lawyer and Carmen pretty much just stayed around the house. Growing up in Halifax, Keith was a huge wrestling fan.  Like many in the business, he'd watch his favorite superstars on television and dream about one day becoming one of them.  Keith started wrestling in middle school, even though his parents thought that it was too dangerous.  Keith continued amateur wrestling throughout high school and won a few regional titles, but his parents never attended a single meet.  The most support he got was from his high school sweetheart, Sarah Rogers.  NPW contacted her for comment.

"Keith was pretty quiet, but he really was a sweet guy at heart.  He pretty much kept to himself, and he kinda hated his parents, but he treated me great.  I was never really a huge wrestling fan, but he was so devoted to it that I didn't want to say anything to discourage him.  Besides, he was kinda cute in that singlet."

After graduation at 18, Keith decided that he wanted to train to become a professional wrestler.  His father strongly urged him to join him at his law practice, but Keith would have no part of it.  After a few months of heated debate, Keith left home and got an apartment by himself in Halifax.  He split up with Sarah as she went to college.  Keith worked everywhere from video rental stores to fast food joints until he finally saved up enough money for wrestling school.  Keith went into training under Derek Neumann, a respected veteran in the business.  Neumann was reached for comment.

"The kid definitely had a lot of potential, but he was always pissed off at something or other.  I could never figure that out.  I always told him that if he could channel that anger into his work, it could pay great dividends.  He usually told me to 'fuck off' or something.  I didn't get mad, though.  I just transferred him to an affiliate of mine in Los Angeles."

At 20, Keith obtained a work visa and made his way to Los Angeles to a small independent league by the name of the West Coast Wrestling Alliance.  The shows usually drew about a thousand people on a good day, but Keith made just enough to make ends meet while he waited for a big break.  The WCWA had a few fans that attended every show, and Keith became a very over heel.  One of those fans was a man by the name of Skip Roberts, who was reached for comment.

"I thought that he had a certain something about him that just screamed.....well....it screamed something.  He was good.  He was damn good.  I never imagined that he would one day steal my girlfriend and that I'd have to start an Anti-Edwards Movement and that Mr. Clean would have to fake a heart attack and that it wouldn't suck itself and that....."

Anyway, Skip met Keith backstage after a show once, and the two immediately became friends.  Keith talked WCWA management into letting Skip be his manager.  As much as we hate to do it, more from Skip Roberts.

"I was thrilled when he asked me to be his manager.  We were a freakin' dream team, man, I tell ya.  I had the looks....he had the ability.....it was golden.  And I don't mean golden in terms of the fuckin' head trip that he's on right now, because that's just stupid.  And by stupid, I mean stupid like stealing your best damn friend's girlfriend and......"

Ahem....Keith and Skip remained a "team" for about five years until the WCWA finally closed due to financial problems.  Keith had all but given up on a career until he was approached by Al Craine of EFW, another independent federation based in Boston.  Al offered Keith a contract and Keith jumped at the opportunity.  Unfortunately, Skip was not offered a contract, and he stayed in Los Angeles to pursue an acting career which resulted in commercials for Waffle House.  Upon his arrival in EFW, Keith was paired up with the wily veteran, Mr. Clean, who showed him the Boston ropes.  We reached Mr. Clean, but he had no comment....which is probably a good thing.

Keith had a very successful run in EFW, including the longest Television title reign in their history and a lengthy North American championship title run as well.  Everything was good for Keith in EFW until it shut down in 2000 as Al Craine was arrested for tax evasion and a few prostitute charges.  Keith had somewhat of a name at this point, and it was the guidance of EFW mate, Dez Bradley, that led him to the Keystone Wrestling Federation and the CAL.  His brother Tyler had been wrestling there, and they were looking for some new talent.  Keith stepped up and soon became arguably the best Susquehanna Valley Title holder in KWF history.  Keith Edwards was reached for comment.

"There's no fucking argument about it.  I was the best!"

Today at 27, Keith is in the midst of enjoying a quick rise to prominence with the Wrecking Crew in NPW, and we can only expect more from him in the future.
