Call-in for Summer 2003 Northern
Tier reservations will begin Monday, April 1, 2002. Please note that
Northern Tier does not use a call center like Sea Base/Philmont-- just
keep on calling if you get a busy signal. There will be openings
available after the call-in period and there are STILL openings for
the summer of 2002. Note that six-day trips will not be
available in the summer of 2003.

SIGN-UP PROCEDURE
To make sure you reservation goes
smoothly, here are some important points and tips:
1. Call our reservation number
on April 1st between 8:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M. Central time.
If the line is busy please keep trying. The phone lines usually
quiet down in the afternoon. We will not fill during the first
day! After April 2nd, we will go back to normal hours of 8:00
A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Central time.
2. We do not
accept fax or e-mail reservation for several reasons-
- Occasionally faxes and e-mails do not
transmit correctly. You may think you have made a reservation
that we have no record of.
- Secondly, it is very important to talk to you directly. Then
we can give you a verbal confirmation that the dates you have
requested are available or help you make changes if your
original dates are not available.
3. Be prepared with the
following information when you call -
- Which base you wish to attend
(Charles L. Sommers in Ely, MN; Donald Rogert in Atikokan,
Ontario; or Northern Expeditions in Bissett, Manitoba)
- How many crews you will be sending (see brochure for details)
- Several choices of arrival dates
- Trip length preferred (7 to 10 days)
4. When you call in, your
crew(s) will each be assigned a crew number and letter
5. After you have made a
tentative reservation with us over the phone, you must fill out the
reservation form (with your Scout Executive's signature) and mail the
form to use with a $300 per crew deposit. The
deposit is non-transferable and non-refundable.
6. If we do not receive the
reservation form and deposit within three weeks, you reservation is
subject to cancellation.
