MCI Center - November 11, 2000

This picture was taken by us in D.C.

The concert at MCI Center was a real treat for Amber and I. Getting a ticket to the show in D.C. was NOT an easy task. Check out the Article section to read an article from The Washington Post regarding getting tickets to the Nsync show in D.C. Anyway, like many of you, when tickets went on sale Saturday September 16th, we were totally shut out. We got nothing!! Well we were so upset and equally upset to find out that brokers had tons of tickets for primo prices and ebay had tons of Nsync ticket listings. We just didn't know what we were going to do.

We ended up getting tickets off ebay. They were horrible seats, but at least we would be there! Then, as luck would have it, my girl Amber won some tickets off of a local radio station. Okay, now we are at least not so high up, but the seats were still bad. You are probably thinking we are greedy, but I know all you Nsyncers understand wanting to be CLOSE to see the show. Like many of you, our mission was to get on the floor!!

Well, the day of the event was crazy. The MCI Center box office was a mob scence. Despite employees yelling that the concert was SOLD OUT, people just weren't leaving. Well, a little while later some seats were online but they weren't anything great. We contacted a broker and decided we'd fork over the cash. By the time we got there to make the purchase, all of the tickets were gone.

Later in the day Amber came across a ticket broker on the Internet. We called him and after some tense hours of waiting for him to meet us, he finally showed up. Okay, he had the floor seats, but they weren't what he had told us!! Anyway, Amber was a little hesitant about making the purchase, but we ended up getting a really good deal. We both knew being on the floor was better than where we were. We made a swap and off we went to find our seats. Come to find out, the SEATS WERE AWESOME!!

We were sitting right by the family and friends section. It was a night neither of us will ever forget. Joey's father was right next to us and he talked to us the whole time!! Amber broke the ice talking to him about his receipe from Live with Regis. He is a great guy and really down to earth. Joey's mom was also there but she was rather quiet. People were coming over and asking Joey's dad if they could take his picture. He just seemed to eat the attention up. He went to get popcorn and I offered to go get it for him. I warned him that he would be attacked by fans but he insisted on going himself. What a guy! He offered to share his popcorn with us and he was so funny. He told us to really think before we answered because the opportunity might not come along ever again. He also talked about his group "The Not So Boy Band" and he told us about opening for Nsync in Orlando and that it all started as a joke but now they actually have a CD. How great! He also discussed the guys and how hard they work. Of course, we all appreicate that! He said they are so huge right now it's unbelievable. He also said the guys know they are a fad and they figure they have about two years left (okay fans - we can't let that happen)!!

Other guests in the audience included Linda Carter (older fans will remember her from her days on Wonder Woman) and JC's girlfriend Bobee.

Now on to the show. There was just so much going on, it was incredible. The noise was intense. I think D.C. was one of the loudest shows I have attended. The guys were great as usual. It's such a high energy show. Justin had some fun in D.C. doing his impersonation of President Clinton. Justin was acting goofy the entire show, it was so funny. They also talked about the recent election and polled the audience to see who voted! Thank goodness I got out to vote! Of course, JC was the home town guy and Justin played on it, but JC didn't seem to into it. I don't know what was up. Linda Carter danced in The Klub during Just Got Paid and it was great! Also, during Just Got Paid JC and Justin were able to demonstrate some of the "old" moves - from like the 80's, it was a riot! We were right at the end of the extended stage for This I Promise You and it was unbelievable. When the guys came down they brought some balls and they were playing catch with people in the audience. Surprisingly, the fans actually threw the balls back. Bobee wasn't around for most of the show but she did come out for this number. JC gave her the cutest look! The energy during the entire show was incredible. Nsync are true performers and it shows in what they do. Of course, all great shows come to an end but it was an unbelievable night we won't soon forget!
