Okay by now you might be getting tired of reading our stories but every story is unique in its own way, right?
On November 5th Amber and I decided if we were able to get good seats, it was worth the three hour drive to head to Penn State. I mean that was nothing compared to our Alabama trip. The morning of the show we were able to get a pair of great seats on the floor right next to the isle (nice and close for This I Promise You). Next thing you know we are off on another Nsync trip!
Maybe you are wondering what our friends and family think of all this. Well they pretty much think we are crazy. But hey all you "true fans" know how important it is to see an Nsync show, I mean there is always a chance that something might be a little different.
Amber and I hit the road. I know that I said this in my Alabama story, but there is something about traveling to see Nsync perform that makes you appreciate the show that much more. Anyway, back to the story. We drove pretty much the whole way without stopping because we just wanted to get there as quick as possible. When we were almost there we did make a quick pit stop at McDonald's (I know real healthy) for a quick bite. There were some elderly folks dining at McDonald's that night and it was pretty funny to see their reactions when we came in. Not that we were dressed that crazy but we were sporting concert attire. Boy we really got some strange looks. We probably looked like freaks to them but we didn't care! It was actually quite funny.
We arrived at the venue and headed to our seats. What did we see when we went to our seats? Frat guys!! That's right, frat guys spotted at an Nsync concert! We were sitting on the floor and we were surrounded by tons of them. It really made us wonder what in the world they were doing at an Nsync show. I mean we were happy to see so many guys there but we were a little skeptical. We were worried because we figured they were going to make fun of the show. They were cracking jokes and trying to look cool but when the concert started, they changed their tune a bit. We figured they were there for some type of initiation (and they may have been) but we did hear some of them say they are friends with Chris' brother and he gave them the tickets. Lucky guys!! We were glad to hear that. I am certainly not trying to stereotype Nsync fans, but in most cases, Nsync does not attract a fan base made up of college frat guys.
Anyway, the show started at 9:00 p.m. and things were going great until Justin's beat box. After the beat box, Justin left the stage and we were waiting for the guys to come back out for It's Gonna Be Me and there was a pause. Next thing we knew Justin was back on stage with the stage manager. Apparently some metal fell from the ceiling and in order to protect the safety of Nsync and their band, they had to stop the show to check it out. The house lights came on and we had about a ten minute break. It was tough because it broke the momentum of the fans and Nsync. However, it didn't take long for everyone to get back "nsync" (sorry couldn't resist). The show continued.
Chris did give a shout out to the frat guys (sorry I can't remember the fraternity) but it was cool. The guys got so excited when Chris recognized them. Chris' grandmother was also there and they talked about the great orange cookies that she makes. It was pretty funny.
Like every Nsync concert, the show flew by. Before we knew it, Nsync was performing Bye, Bye, Bye. That is just the worst part of the show (ha ha).
Okay is it time for the next tour....can't wait until 2001.
