Role Of Parents | ||||||||
Parents in most cultures are expected to provide and care for their children. Chinese parents are the same, only stricter. This is because China is more traditional country with more customary values and rules. They are most likely very firm and control a large part of their children’s lives. They have much power, but less power than their parents – the grandparents. Parents are also expected to be worthy role models and set good examples, acting accordingly to the way they want their children to act. In most societies, the mother is the parent that assumes the dominant role in raising the children of a family. This is true for China as well. This is because the father is always out working, leaving him little time to spend with his children – time that could be spent teaching and fathering his children. | ||||||||
