				Roles of Males
			In most cultures and societies, males are dominant and have more power in general than females.  China is the same.  Men are considered to be more important and therefore have much more power in the government.  Traditionally, men were supposed to be the breadwinners while women weren’t supposed to work at all.  Men did all the farming, fishing, and other hard work that required physical labor.  Men also had little roles in the raising of children, as they were always working.  Males were also the educated sex.  From the time they are little boys, their parents decide on whether he could attend school and receive an education.  If the family was quite affluent, the chances of him getting an education were much higher, as education came at a price in China.    However, in modern times, men aren’t expected to be the entire source of income as they used to be.  But their roles in raising children have not changed much at all.
