Infant one of two killed in Indonesia's Maluku province
Gunmen firing from a speedboat have shot dead a man and an 11-month-old baby in a
dawn attack off Buru Island in Indonesia's Maluku province.
Three others have been wounded and one person is missing.
Provincial police spokesman, Hendro Prasetyo, says the group was going about its
normal business in Wamkana village when eight attackers opened fire from a
speedboat about 200-300 metres offshore.
Last week, on the neighbouring island of Ambon Muslim-Christian fighting killed 38
people.
The clashes were sparked by a banned parade by the Maluku Sovereignty Front in
Ambon City on April 25.
