Japanese Govt Contributes Funds to Help Maluku Refugees
Ambon, Maluku, May 8 (ANTARA) - The Japanese government has contributed Rp400
million in funds to the Maluku provincial administration for the transportation of the
belongings of refugees from the recent riots in Ambon.
The secretary to the Maluku provincial government, Dr.HJ Huliselan, said here
Saturday, the aid conveyed through the Japanese embassy in Jakarta, was a
manifestation of Japan`s humanitarian concern for the refugees.
They had been victimized by by the communal onflict that erupted during the
observance of the 54th Anniversary of the sepratist "RMS" (Republic of South Maluku)
last April 25, 2004 in Ambon.
