Maluku police chief denies meeting with jihad front commander -

Ambon, Maluku, May 13 (ANTARA) - Maluku Police chief, Brig Gen Adityawarman,
has denied meeting Jihad Front commander, Djafar Umar Thalib, in Soabali village,
Nusawine subdistrict in Indonesia`s Maluku province early this week, as reported by
the local press.
"That was only a rumor. The (Jihad Front) commander was not here, so how could he
meet with the Maluku Police chief. People should not be easily provoked by such
rumors," Ambon regional police chief, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Leonidus
Braksan, said on Thursday.
