One of our main problems is lack of qualified staff, especially Doctors (MO, AMO), Clinical Officers and Nursing Officers. For Tanzanian doctors the hospital offers substantial bonuses in addition to the usual government salary. We also offer good accommodation in doctors' houses. Our hospital has 24 hour electricity, good quality piped water and an internal telephone system. From Nyangao it is easy to use mobile telephone - TIGO and other mobile phone companies. There is also available from the hospital communication by internet.

This part of the country is underdeveloped and suffers from a lack of proper health services. The number of patients coming to us and the quality of service greatly exceeds the role of medium size mission hospital. Nyangao hospital is acting very often as referral hospital for the patients from Lindi and Mtwara Regions.

BETTER INTEGRATION INTO NATIONAL HEALTH SYSTEM
For a long time hospital has been expecting better support from national level (Ministry of Health) by recognition as District Designated Hospital (DDH) and to increase Bed Grants from 150 to actual 220.
Both of these steps will help hospital:
- financially - to be less dependant from external resources (help from mission abroad)
- with getting more qualified personnel
CONSTRUCTION CENTRAL SEWAGE SYSTEM (similar to existing in Ndanda and Peramiho) instead of almost every day pumping sewage from individual tanks located near patients rooms which creates noise, polution and is expensive.
ESTABLISHMENT INTENSIVE CARE UNIT
with well trained staff and basic equippment for the patients after difficult operations, with serious medical diseases, eclampsia, after serious accidents etc.IMPROVE ADMINISTRATION
by employment of an accountant, purchase and storage officer. Introduction of regular external auditing.INCREASE HOSPITAL INCOME by:
- modification of the hospital fee system which is over four years old
- establishment of a new catchment area, recognizing the presence of new hospitals in Ruangwa, Tandahimba as well as growing number of patients coming from towns like Lindi, Mtwara or Masasi.
