Professional Development Sessions

There will now be 4 "Professional Development" sessions for Teachers as a result of demand, and observing the popularity of this idea at the Melbourne Convention.
These will be headed by James Kortum.Who has pin-pointed distinct areas to work on:

Session 1 Friday 4.00-5.30
"Starting the Beginner" Amelia Fulkner(Skinner)

Session 2 Saturday 11.00-12.30pm
"The Flautist's Bow" James Kortum
-creating the sound
-tone production with purpose

Session 3 Sunday 2.30-4-00pm
"Connection and Direction" James Kortum

Session 4 Monday 2.00-3.30pm
Final discussion Group, exchange of ideas, questions, problem solving - James Kortum


The Youth programme

The Youth Programme will be split into 2 groups Junior, and Senior in order to satisfy the need of the older students who are in the grade 5-8 category.The emphasis will be on ensemble playing but they will be in and out of the main programme.

This will be coordinated and Headed by Celia Stewart and will
involve a number of experienced teachers and players in this area. Included will be: Mark Dannenbring(USA), Peter Huang (AKL), Megan Sterling (Aust-NZ), Janne Frost(Aust) Jane Doig(NZ) and others.

 

Late Entries for the Open Competitions

Late entries for the open competitions are still currently being considered (27 May, 2002). All late entries remain subject to the discretion of the Convention Organising Committee.
