I have a long involvement with unions since 1975, including as a delegate and executive member, and have been writing about the history of different unions since 1982.  I hold a MA (Hons) degree from the University of Auckland (1974) and the diploma of the New Zealand Library School.  I am Team Leader at the Auckland Research Centre of Auckland City Libraries and have written online biographies of both Frank Langstone and Fred Young

I have also assisted Graeme Hunt with his biography of Fintan Patrick Walsh, and "Spies and Revolutionaries" - see here for a more detailed view of the relationship between Paddy Costello and Griff Maclaurin.

I am also the President of the North Shore Historical Society, and on the editorial board of New Zealand legacy, which is published by the New Zealand Federation of Historical Societies.
