Reykjavik, Iceland
April 2004

We had been thinking of unusual places we could go over our half term break and Iceland seemed to be far enough off the beaten track to warrant a visit. Along with our friends, Bradley, Patrick and Nicky, we set off for Reykjavik with no idea what to expect.

The intrepid explorers on the first day out in the car.

"The team woefully under-estimated their required supplies for the trip..."

Paul takes a quiet moment to ponder this vast volcanic wasteland that is Iceland.

The Gullfoss Falls, so-named because of the rich rainbow colours you can see as sunlight shines through the mist.

"Paul could not let the local historical figure's rude comment go unchallenged..."

Tina at Gullfoss, set to a backdrop of desolate beauty.

Paul at the same place but from a different angle.

Paul, Patrick and Phil having a few beers in the hostel kitchen.

A statue of Leif Ericson? The lads do their best to maintain a level of dignity in the presence of such a local shrine..

"We'll be 'avin you, sunshine"

The girls get all sexy on us unsuspecting boys.

The Blue Lagoon: A day sitting in milk coloured hot water. Great!

"Paul finally reaches the conclusion that it's time he stopped smoking..."

The Lads. (Patrick, Brad and Paul)

"In 958ad the Vikings discovered that making boats out of wood, not steel, worked much better..."

Paul trys out the local Faith.

More desolate wasteland. Note the green moss covering the rocks allowing emense fun via bouncing trampoline style.
