My family have been living in Ho Chi Minh city, Viet Nam over 50 years.

I am now in Australia with my husband. We live in Maroo Street. I found out about AMES when I came to the Australian Consulate office in HCM city and I decided to join this program to go to Melbourne. My flight landed at the Melbourne airport on 20, September 2003 and my husband took me to AMES one week later. I began to learn English here and also made friends with a lot of people from other countries. Our class is from Monday to Friday, Tuesday is Computer Class and it is very interesting.

Although I just lived here a short time, I love this peaceful city, especially Hughesdale where my house is located. We have some very nice neighbours; they are very helpful and make me feel comfortable as they are friendly.

Sometimes I still feel cold here compared with my homeland’s warmness, but I think I will get used to it in the future and will get more progression in learning English sooner.
