A friend of mine has a $99 Marshall 15 watt practice amp
with 8" speaker. The Zoom 505 sounded phenomenal through
his amp, making it sound like a $500 amp. He was so
impressed that he wanted to buy the Zoom from me right there,
but, alas, his wife wouldn't let him.
It appears that the Zoom505 works best in an amp with a
strong pre-amp. The Zoom has a built-in pre-amp, but is
noisy in amplifiers with lousy preamps, as far as I can tell.
