Day 7 Thoughts

Twenty of us took the shinkansen, the bullet train, to the Iwate prefecture. We noticed the scenery change as the train traveled north from Tokyo to Iwate. We left the tall buildings of the city behind and observed instead rice paddies, mountains and small villages. We boarded a bus at the Morioka train station and traveled about 2 hours south to Ofunato. We passed many farmers working in their rice paddy fields and personal gardens. We were struck by the beauty of the hydrangeas adn the tiled roof tops which added charm to the area. I am scheduled to leave Tokyo tomorrow, but a typhoon is expected to hit Tokyo tonight. I will spend another night in Tokyo if it does. I will add to this website again when I return home. I have so many things I want to share with you.
