Well, now that I got through the basics I can actually talk about myself. I pretty much only have two things that I really really enjoy . I love learning about animals. I also am a stringaholic.

First off I will talk about animals. I especially like mammals but as I learn more I start liking other animals. I have really gotten interested in taxonomy or the science of classifying organisms. Do you remember from biology class that Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species thing? Well, that's taxonomy. I have written down every family of vertibrate animals somewhere in the house. (I don't know where most of them are so I may have to do it over.) I have memorized every order of mammal and if you tell me a mammal I can usually tell you what order it belongs to.

Another part of learning about animals that I am starting to really enjoy is cryptozoology or the study of animals that may or may not exist. A few examples of animals that would be covered in this field are Bigfoot, the Loch Ness monster, Yeti, and even dinosaurs (meaning dinosaurs that are alive in modern times.) I research on the subject for biology class and I got hooked on the topic.

I like so many animals that I don't really have a specific favorite, but here are some of them that are really up there. I like spotted hyenas (Crocuta crocuta) a lot because so many people think of them as lowly scavengers just because they are ugly and then they think of lions (Panthera leo) as great hunters and very magestic. I won't argue that hyenas look ugly but I do think of them as much better than lions. Did you know that the hyenas are the ones who usually make the kill and then the lions just come in and take it from them. Another animal that I like a lot is the octopus (cephalopods). I just find them so interesting. They are very inteligent creatures even though they don't have much of a brain. An octopus can fit through a space about the size of one of their eyes. I just think that it is so interesting how they can squish like that. Also I find that their ability to not only change color but that they can also change the texture of their skin to be fasinating. The last animal on my favorites list is the dragonfly (odonata). I think that they are one of the top flying insect predators. They had to have done something write if they have been on earth vertually unchanged since before the dinosaurs even evolved.

My next interest is string. I can say much about why I like it but I just love it. I have noticed that a lot of people will fiddle with string and not even notice it. Try it sometime, just take a peice of string and hold it while someones talking or your mind is on something else. You probably will just start fiddling with it. I almost always need my hands doing something so string is just really great for me. Aside from fiddling with it string has many other uses. I have several different hobbies involving string. I am writting 101 Uses of String, I am going to write a few poems about string, I am collecting how to say string in various languages, and soon I will make a web page about string ( when I make it I will have Paco link to it.) Oh, by the way if you know how to say string in a foreign language or happen to have any good poems about string please email it to me. Who knows, it may end up on my web site.

Well, there is just a few more things that I can say about myself. I am a junior in high school and so far I have a 4.0 gpa. I am the youngest in the family so I get spoiled. I really enjoy stormy weather. My favorite weather is when the sky is filled with dark grey clouds, the temperature is just a little over room temperature, there is a strong warm breeze, and it is humid. The reason that my favorite season is fall is because the weather is like that farely often. Well, that about wraps up my life.
