Pride's story is a long one. Way back when I was a new SIM player, I was a member of a game called CHN. In this game I had a small, modest stable called Pine Bed Stables. I didn't have a specialty, rather, I just bred and competed all sorts of horses. One day a girl quit, and left all her horses for people to claim. I saw Pride as a weanling and there was something about him that just made me weak at the knees. I took him home immediately, and nursed him into a healthy yearling, when I began training him as a racehorse. He surprised me and all of Pine Bed with his amazing talent, skill, and speed. Much to our surprise, when we finally decided to race him as a 2 year old, he totally swept the field away, winning his first-ever race by several lengths. Not long after, we began racing him more and more through his two and three year old years. He flawlessly won every race we threw at him, making himself a well-known horse and giving Pine Bed the attention it had lacked from the start. Pride went on to win the Florida Derby, the Breeder's Futurity, and even won the prestigious Triple Crown when he was three. Sadly, shortly after winning the Triple Crown, Pride was entered in a stakes race, and stumbled coming into the homestretch. He tore a tendon in his right fore, and had to be retired from racing right there on the track after his one and only loss. When I finally began to lose interest in CHN (it was no longer fun, the only members left were those who had been there forever and they were ruining it by bringing spoiled, I'm-better-than-you attitudes to the game), I found GH. Although I did have my own game at the time, it wasn't very active, so I shipped Pride into GH, where he has resided at OA ever since. Now that I have a Thoroughbred stable, though, he is joining us here at SHA. I love Pride to pieces, and I will never let him go!
