Please feel free to make copies.
1. Register with the US Embassey prior to leaving.
2. Call your credit card companies to tell them how long you will be in China.
3. Pack all important documents needed in China in your carry-on bag.
4. Pack cash, passports, identification, and airline tickets in carry-on bag.
5. Pay your bills at home.
6. Place a HOLD on your mail service at home.
7. Leave a key and copies of ALL important papers, including passports, with a family member or close friend.
8. Unplug electrical items in your home.
9. Take two extra passport photos.
10. Take business cards with you to hand out.
11. Pack snacks for plane and cheerios for baby.
12. Pack antibiotics, pepto bismol tabs, and other important meds. Leave all meds in original containers and ask your physician to write down your prescriptions to take along, too.
13. Attach luggage tags to all pieces of luggage.
14. Place as sticker on the inside of each piece of luggage with all contact info incase your luggage is misplaced.
15. Pack the gifts for the orphanage workers.
16. Take a color picture of your child with you at all times.
17. Pack a few comfort items: soaps, chocolates, coffee, etc...
18. Take a little brag book with pictures of your hometown to show to people you meet.
19. Don't forget your glasses!
20. Take cameras and film.
