Pregnant Pause
Ok, there has been some interesting happenings in the world this week.  As of this moment, it appears that the cease fire is holding between Hezbollah/Lebanon/Israel.  In the last 24 hours, Abbas, President of Palestinian Authority, has been talking with the different factions in Gaza about stopping their assult on Israel.  It would be nice if the cease fires would actually lead to peace agreements, but only time will tell.

The most interesting part of the Cease fire betwen Hezbollah/Lebanon/Israel is that the US will not be involved in the process.  Maybe that will give the cease fire more life.  The US has proven that they are not a good intermediator when Israel is involved in any negotiations, so this is actually a good sign for the world.

I will keep my fingers crossed.

Now, on the sad front.  While the world was focused on Lebanon, the fighting in Iraq has gotten brutal.  Over 3400 Iraqis died.  This is more than twice the number who died in Lebanon/Israel.  The world needs to change their focus to Iraq.  The US needs to seek outside help, because it is obvious that Civil war is just over the horizon in Iraq if the World or mainly the Arab world does not unite behind the struggling Iraqi leadership.
