This is where I talk about what I feel is important: Politics, Life, Family,
Iraq and US
Well, the holiday season is upon us.  We are nearing the end of another year, which of course means that I am getting another year older.

The political situation is getting more polarized.  It seems like the current Administration is not willing to accept responsiblity for make an error in judgement when it came to evaluating the intelligence for the invasion of Iraq.  I understand that it is a huge blow to someone's pride to admit that they were wrong, but this adminstration seems to be extremely prideful.  The last time an administration was this determined to not accept any responibility, the President was impeached.  I know that I would actually have more respect for the current adminstration if they would just admit that they had an error in judgement.

Now as for my opinion as to when the US should withdrawl from Iraq.  I do not believe than an immediate withdrawl should happen.  We have spent a lot of money to overthrow Saddam and to establish a democracy in Iraq.    I really do not want to have this money wasted and have Iraq's government crumble.  I do believe that we need to start turning over the responsiblity for Iraq's security over to the Iraqis.  I believe that this can be accomplished while our troops are slowly withdrawn.  I do not want for Iraq to become another South Vietnam.  The cost to the US has been to high in money and in lives.

Wow. You wrote this over a year ago...and nothing has changed. Do you think we're angry enough yet? Over coffee with my Dad a couple days ago the he raised the question "Why doesn't anyone protest anymore?" My answer was "fear." Our freedom of speech is not what it used to be.

Yeah, I really can't believe that nothing really happened last year. Like I said in my blog, pride is a powerful thing, if you are afraid to admit you are wrong then there is a price to be paid. In this case it is not the prideful who are paying the price, though.
