This is where I talk about what I feel is important: Politics, Life, Family,
Politics - Part 2 of ????
Ok, this one is definately a continuation of a previous blog.

Abortion:  I think that abortion rights involve more than just the right to privacy, but more importantly the right to decide your own medical decisions.   If you want to see more on my Abortion thoughts see my previous blog.

Does a person have the right to never see a doctor for any ailment they might have?  I believe that they do have this right.  Does this right extend to their children?  This is one of those gray areas.  I think that parents have the ultimate rights when it comes to governments interference into how children are raised.  I believe that part of the reason why children seem to never know where boundaries exist is because the government is too quick to jump in and seperate parents from children.  (I am not talking about real cases of abuse.)

Recently, in Seattle Washington, the State took custody of a small, sick boy.  Not because the Mother wasn't seeking medical help for her son, but because the Doctor didn't want the mother to look for "Alternative" cures for her son.   When the State stepped in, the Mother took her son out of the Hospital.  The state then issued an Amber alert stating that the boy would die if he was not back in the hospital, which turned out to be a total lie.  The mother was taken to jail and charged with kidnapping.  The mother has pled guilty, but I really wish that she had fought the charges.  The government needs to be stopped.  Doctors need to be stopped.  This kind of interference is wrong.

What does this have to do with abortion?  An abortion is a medical procedure.  It should be a private medial decision, just as other medical decisions are.  The government also tends to get involved in medial decisions when it involves the end of a persons life.  Last year, a woman, Terri Schiavo was finally allowed to die.   The government of Florida got involved in the battle between her parents and her husband by creating a law that specifically denied a comotose person from being allowed to die.  Fortunately, the US Supreme court refused to hear this case and when the Federal Government tried to create a Federal Law to protect "Terri" it too was not upheld by the court system.  We as human beings, deserve the right to choose how much medical care we want, whether it is for us or for those who we love.
