This is where I talk about what I feel is important: Politics, Life, Family,
Politics - Part 4 of ????
Big Government -

Is there a point where government is too big?  My answer is Yes
Is there a point where government is too small?  My answer is Yes

The government should not provide all the needs of each person.  I have a belief that those who are given everything desire nothing.  How many of us would actually work if we had a place over our heads, food on the shelves, health care  for free and didn't have any bills to worry about?  I think that unless we found motivation from some other form, the answer would certainly be no.  In the Communist system of the former USSR, the motivation was death.  In socialist countries like Great Britian, Canada and Israel; I would assume that their motivation is the drive to earn money to make their lives better or more enjoyable.

The government should be a safety net for those who fall on troubled times.  There really is no reason why anyone in this world should know hunger.  But unfortunately, there are children who went to bed last night hungry and will go to bed hungry again tonight.  There is not only enough money in the world to stop this, but there is also enough food in the world to feed these children.

Children go to bed hungry not only in the "third world" countries, but also in every developed country in the world.    If a person believes that children are the future, then why would they not making sure that they can be tucked into a safe bed at night with a full stomach?  Is it because there are too many "special" program that need money more?  I doubt it.  I think that it is easier to forget about the world's children and their needs.  There are no special PACs fighting to get a moment with the governments leadership.
