This is where I talk about what I feel is important: Politics, Life, Family,
Birthday Fun

Ok, Saturday was my son's 19th birthday.  He is now half my age.  Every year for his birthday, it is like a weekend celebration.  I have usually gone overboard because I rarely got anything more than a cake that I had to bake for myself and Happy Birthday sung for me.  (Never have a child right after Christmas)

So, the weekend started with his best friend staying the weekend.  Those two boys were extremely loud.  They woke me up several times during the night.  Finally around 3-4 Jake shut his bedroom door, but did not realize that his bedroom window is right next to mine.  By this time I was just too tired to even get up and tell him to shut his window.  But they finally went to sleep.  I had already told Jake that I wanted him to come with me to run a few errands and to also pick up the pies for his birthday celebration on Friday night.

Well, Odie woke me up at 6:30am to go potty, but I lucked out and he was back asleep by 7:30.  The next thing I know it is 11 am.  We are meeting my family for an early dinner at 4:30 and I have a ton of stuff to get done.  Plus, one of my brothers and Jake's friend Bryan are supposed to put up a Ceiling fan that I am giving to Jake for his birthday.  Well, Jake and I start off on our errand running (Out by 11:30am).  Jake has no clue that anything is taking place at home.

Also for Jake's birthday, I am giving him $100 to spend at a video game store (Every teenager's dream gift).  We are going to do this while we are out.  So, I look at my phone while Jake is in the Video store (1hr after we have left).  I have missed a call from home.  The message says that Pat (my brother) had to run to a nearby store to get some different screws, so I need to give them more time.  This is at 12:30pm.  A wonder of wonders, Jake only spends about 15 minutes in the video game store.  (I am out walking Odie; he is running errands with us).  I have already washed the car (Oh boy did Odie like that), I have stopped at the cleaners, I have gotten gas.  Oh and Jake just informs me that I actually gave him $120 instead of $100 (oops).  I tell Jake that I need to walk Odie around the parking lot for a while (Which works).  Then we are off to get the pies, which I send him into get.

I am racking my brain.   It is now 1:15pm and the car is starting to get too hot to have Odie (Who will get his first hair cut next week) in it without having the A/C on all the time.  Plus Jake chose Lemon Meringue as one of his two pies.  (UGH!!!!)   So, somehow I convince Jake that I can drop Odie and the Pies off at the house.  He can just stay in the car.  Of course, I couldn't warn my brother and Bryan that I will be coming in the house alone.  But I announce myself as I come in the door and then go take a look at Jake's room.  It is a night mare.  They have nothing up and do not even have the fan assembled.  There were problems from the beginning of the installation.

So, Jake and I are off to the Shoe store, He does need new sneakers.  Then we are off to Fred Meyers (A local department/grocery store.)  At first, Jake just wants to hurry and get the stuff and get home. (We have been gone since 11:30 and it is now after 2:00pm).  I send him off to another part of the store after something, and call home.  They need another 20 - 30 minutes.  I told them, that I would do the best I could, but I was running out of ideas to keep us out of the house.  We finally left Fred Meyers at 3:00.  Pat and Bryan were just putting the lights on the fan.  Jake really likes his fan. The rest of his birthday went great.  He enjoyed visiting with his cousins, plus he got Pie instead of cake.

The last of the family left around 9pm.  I was exhausted.  Odie had fun.  He was a little overwhelmed at first, but when everyone finally settled in the living room, he started to settle.  He seemed to have really become attached to my youngest nephew.

Now move to this last Wednesday.  I get a call from Jake, while at work.  He wants to let me know that his fan has died.  So, yesterday he and my brother took it down and tonight I am going to go get a replacement fan.

Tomorrow Odie is going for his first hair cut.  I will try to get some pictures of him tonight and then again tomorrow so that there will be before and after pictures.  He is growing so fast.  He also has a check up at the vet’s office tomorrow afternoon to see if he is ready to be snipped.  So, depending on his status, he may be very unhappy with me tomorrow night.

I hope to add some cute pictures that I have taken of Odie this weekend.  Jake says that Odie is just like a baby.  He doesn’t have to really be doing anything in order for me to pull the camera out.  I know that he is right.
