Theatre Arts Class to Appear in a Locally Produced Film Students from Mr. Converse's Theatre Arts 2200 class have been selected to appear as extras in a locally produced film about date rape entitled "Saturday Night Romance" . The script was written Mark Shallow , a graduate of O'Donel, and is being produced by an independent film company - Touche Productions. Production begins in February. More details will be forthcoming at a later date. November 1999- November has been a very active month for Drama at O'Donel. "Fame: The Musical" : A Phenomenal Success On November 12th- 14th, O'Donel delighted theatergoer's with it's long anticipated production of the Musical "Fame" at the St. John's Arts & Culture Center. Nine months in the making, this production was a phenomenal success and the demand was such that we opened up a fifth show on November 15 and sold 900 plus tickets in less than 48 hours. For more information on this outstanding achievement, see Archive. O'Donel Improv Team Very Active Again This Year On November 4th - 7th, our Improv team , under the direction of Ms. Christine Hennebury, competed in the annual Canadian Improv Games and placed third during the evening of their performance. Congratulations on a job well done. This is Ms. Hennebury's fourth year as Improv coach at O'Donel and she has done much to promote the Arts in our school district. In February or March, Ms. Hennebury will also be organizing the first ever "Improvaganza" event - a unique competition that allows students within our school district to compete with other students on an individual basis. Our Improv team is also planning a Dessert Theatre. More information about these events will be forthcoming so check back often. (See O'Donel Improv Page) Theatre Class Presents Vignettes From Schindler's List Also in November Mr. Converse's Theatre Arts
students presented vignettes from "Schindler's List" in the school gymnasium
as part of this year's Remembrance Day ceremony. Only select students doing
History and Social Studies were invited to attend this performance.
Theatre Arts Class Presents Dicken's "A Christmas Carol" On December 20th, Mr. Converse's Theatre Arts
2200 students presented an abridged version of Dicken's classic novel "A
Christmas Carol" in gymnasium for all students doing Literary Heritage
2201. For further details see

"who-done-it" type of plot complete with music and a sumptuous three- course meal . The script was written by Christine Hennebury , no stranger to Dinner Theatre in this area, so it's an event that we are sure you won't want to miss!! This is the second play by Ms. Hennebury that we have performed- the first being Death of A Lounge Lizard in the Spring of 1998 ( see archive). Once again, we are hoping to second Ms. Penney's Foods class to prepare the menu and serve the meal. The cost of admission is only $10.00- the absolute minimum to cover the cost of the meal. Check back here for further details on this and other events as they become available.
