The March 11th Reunion Committee Meeting took place at the Tioga County Office Building at 7pm. Those in attendance included: Jamie (Brown) Deats, Lori (Faut) Jackson, Donna Henry, Steve Frye and Mark Warfle We had much to discuss this evening and the length of the meeting proved it - 2 hrs 45 minutes.
Topics Discussed: Mark Warfle lead us through the possibilities for the Saturday night meal. We spent an unbelievable amount of time and energy discussing the type of menu, drinking possibilities and how are classmates would be able to best enjoy this aspect of the reunion. We feel that some folks have been pushing us to keep the cost down so that everyone would feel that they could attend. We believe that we have done that. We have chosen a meal plan and a "drinking" plan that will allow us to keep the cost per person (for the entire function Saturday night) to $35 per person. This will include a buffet with a wide variety of things to eat, open bar (beer, wine) for 3 hours, decoration costs, gifts/prizes, and more that I can't even remember. This cost will also include other things like paying for bills already accumulated, cost of the DJ, mailings, etc. The group was also made aware that I made a mistake in the last notes by saying we would be sending out self-addressed STAMPED envelopes - sorry - you will have to stamp them yourselves.. The idea of the bigraphies is gaining some momentum as several people have now sent some in, but we have a long way to go. Please take some time to do this. Donna still wants to run a 50/50 raffle to help raise funds for the committee to use to run this "show." Please bring some dollars because you never know if we will need to meet some unexpected costs! We talked about the next mailing and should have some sort of a rough draft by next meeting. In this mailing you will have to respond to the following: coming or not? Golf? Hickories Park for Picnic? Need a Hotel Room? Some sort of contest questions.. We will be sending out a new letter to each and every one of you at the beginning of April. At that time we should have info on prices for everything and a self-addressed envelope for you to use in responding to a growing list of questions - the fun stuff for the most part. So be on the lookout for that. |
