What Happened To...?
(OG:) Kristin was a mystery to me at first. I really didn't know what to
make of her, but I would later go on to realize that she was cool. She
backed Andrew and me through a lot of shit, and looked to us for comic
relief and good company. If I recall correctly, Kristin had planned to
start a band and shut me off when I asked her if I could join. Enraged
(It's amazing what enrages people in High School), I started my own band,
Peripheral Vision, with Jeff "I hit you because I love you" Breen, Mike
Wilby, Richard Salamanca, and Maurice Erichson. Maurice, Mike, and Richard
left the band, and Andrew, Matthew Comegys, and Dan Heisel jumped in.
Thus, EVERGREEN was born. Thanks for saying no to me that day, Kristin.
It led to a lot of great memories!!
(AX:) I met Kristin just days before summer vacation in 1993. She and Kristi O'Neal came over to my house and hung out all day long one time. We wrote each other a lot during 10th grade, but I don't remember seeing her much after that. The big thing Kristin and I share is that we were both in the car the night Jeff had his head-on collision. Lucky for me, she called shotgun. We all got pretty banged up during that, and it's something I'll never forget. It's a pretty vivid memory, and Kristin is part of it. As far as that "band" thing goes, it was all a joke. SPIN magazine had an annual contest for "Worst Band", and invited people to send in tapes of their horrible music. She wanted to form a horrible band with me and a few others (one who played sax), but it didn't happen. The last time I saw her, I was going to Open Campus high school in Atlanta. My friend Phokus and I went to her house.
STATUS:
(OG:) Kristin is currently in Atlanta and working hard to make a good
life for herself. She's changed a lot over the years, and it's apparently
all been for the better. I wish you the best of luck, Kris...
(AX:) Last summer, Kristin e-mailed me to kind of catch up and stuff. She's apparently done very well for herself, and I'm always glad to hear that. She left a message on our board with details.
