Carl Fletcher
- Born 7/4/80, Surrey Heath. Height 5' 10"". Central Midfielder. Came
through the juniors at Dean Court and he made his debut in February 1998
away to Grimsby, aged just 17. It
was another two years before Fletcher landed a regular role and he scored
7 goals in 48 appearances for the Cherries last season. He also managed
to get himself sent off and acquired a fair number of yellow cards. rednblack.net
have this to say about Fletcher :- "Carl
has the potential to be a complete midfield player and has been compared
by many Cherries fans to former captain, Matty Holland. First and foremost,
he's a great ball winner and won't take any slack from opposing players.
This sometimes lands him in trouble, but the way in which he has conducted
himself on the field of play has dramatically improved. His awareness and
range of passing is also impressive and is often found threading the ball
out wide or setting up a decent scoring chance for the strikers. That's
when he's not scoring himself. If he sees a chance, he takes it and many
of his goals have been top quality."

(2) Wade
Elliot, Born 14/12/78, Height 5'9" Born Southampton Right
sided wing back/midfield. Signed for a bargain £5000 from Bashley,
Elliot took some time to establish himself in the Cherries first team but
towards the end of last season, he was a regular and scored 8 times in
the Cherries last twelve matches that term, netting in each of the last
3 games. rednblack.net
have this to say about Elliot:- "Wade's
main attribute that makes him such an effective wide player is that he
has no fear of anything. No fear of missing the target and certainly no
fear of losing the ball. He runs at defenders with every opportunity and
penetrates the penalty box with frightening danger. He
loves space and strives on wide pitched as shown at Reading on the final
day of last season. On the negative side, he is one of the team's weaker
players and has been dubbed "Weed" by his team mates. If he continues as
a wing back, Elliott will have to improve on the defensive side of his
game." Nationwide

Latics take on
struggling Bournemouth tomorrow at Boundary Park.
Latics will
be looking to put Tuesday's set-back behind them, and get back into the
play-off push. Bournemouth
have had a poor season, compared to last. They currently lie in 19th place
and last won in the FA Cup against Worksop in mid-November. They
got a great result at QPR on Tuesday. (1-1) There away form though has
been poor this season, winning only once, drawing 6 and losing 8. Earlier
in the season, Latics went to Bournemouth when top of the league, but led
the lead slip to lose 3-2. Matthew Tipton and David Eyres scored Latics
goals. Take a look at a report on the link below. Cherries
v Latics 06 October 2001 Latics
welcome Allan Smart back to the squad, although he will face a late fitness
test. He injured his ankle in the 2-0 win over Swindon, and only returned
to training yesterday. John Eyre and Carlo Corazzin may be the front pairing
again. Paul Rachubka and Matty Appleby have had the flu this week, but
are expected to play. Latics

Hayter is Bournemouth's major doubt for tomorrow's game. He clattered into
QPR's keeper on Tuesday and is rated 50-50 for the game. Brian
Stock is suspended for the game after picking up his 5th booking. Steve
Fletcher will also miss the game, and will be out for the rest of the season.
