Dare we hope?
At the beginning of this year our spiritual reading is Hans Urs Von Balthasar's book "Dare We Hope 'That All Men Be Saved'? - With a Short Discourse on Hell"
This is a sort of demanding reading and it migh be good for introducing the reader to the thought of this great but lesser known theologian of the twentieth century. I personally am inclined to agree with his view (this opinion had put him in the whirlwind of controversy) that hell is probably empty. Hell should exist to give the possibility of free choice of it - but we are called to believe also in the will of God to save all and that Christ died for all...
