Championship

Woburn Wildcats 36, Victoria Park Panthers 7

The Woburn Wildcats, five time defending Scarborough league champions, captured their second Metro Bowl in three years as they defeated the Victoria Park Panthers by a score of 36-7.

They were led by their fifth year veteran running back Stuart Harshaw who tallied a pair of touchdowns as he carried for 170 yards.

The Panthers actually opened the scoring as Tony Clark finished the opening drive of the game with a 30 yard single.  Before half time, Harshaw had punched the ball in twice from the one, then the two yard line.  Troy May added one convert to give the Wildcats a 12 point lead at the half.  After a scoreless third quarter, May was good on a 30 yard field goal.  May then returned a punt 51 yards for six more points.  A fumble a the twenty yard line was picked up by Joe Cascagnett for a touchdown.  Backup Quarterback Brett Barnett would connect with Booby Anderson for a 35 yard touchdown pass to close out the Woburn scoring.  Ironically that was the only pass completion for the Wildcats in the game.  May converted the final two touchdowns.
