Losing Gracefully

Thank Yous: To Ep and SB for reading. Sometimes I suspect you're the only ones.

Mini-Rant: I've noticed a disturbing trend in writing lately...namely people use the word "loose" when they want to say "lose." Seeing as this is a critical part of the title of this story, I thought I'd point it out. When something goes missing or a character doesn't win, they are "losing." "Losing." They are not "loosing." In fact, I don't believe that's a word, folks. If you've lost some weight (and good for y'all), your pants may be "loose." The trick is that the "s" sound in that word doesn't sound like a "z," as in "lose." I'm sorry for the rant, y'all, but I've seen it so often now I've started to think maybe it's officially changed. If that's the case, let me know and I'll be appropriately apologetic. If not, please, please check before you post anything with that error. I can't read otherwise lovely stories because it's so glaringly distracting. I'd even offer to beta for people tempted to "loose" things rather than "lose" them. Yeah, I'm just one big grammar, word freak. I'm still re-editing stuff I wrote years ago.

Rating: This is fluffy, clean fun. Promise. This would have been my season 6 premiere.

Disclaimer:The song lyrics at the start of the fic are from a lovely old ditty that is not mine. I own nothing. Except...no nothing. Never mind.
