This is Southern Railways passenger timetable for August 5, 1951.

Trains operated were, "The Crescent" with coaches from Atlanta to New Orleans, Sleepers from New York to New Orleans and Washington to New orleans, and New York to Atlanta, a diner from New York to New Orleans. One of the New York to New Orleans sleepers ran as a two drawing room- Master Room, and buffet lounge.

The "Piedmont Limited" from New York to New Orleans via Atlanta, Montgomery, Mobile. Coaches ran from Washington to New Orleans, a diner from Monroe to Atlanta, Atlanta to Montgomery, and New Orleans, with sleepers from New York to Charlotte, New York to Mobile, New York to New Orleans, Washington to New Orleans, Atlanta to New Orleans, and Birmingham to New York.

The "Washington-Atlanta-New Orleans Express" which was a all stops local with coaches from Washington to Atlanta, Atlanta to Montgomery, Montgomery to New Orleans, a diner from Monroe to Greensboro, Greenville to Monroe, and Montgomery to New Orleans. Sleepers ran from Washington to New Orleans, Montgomery to New Orleans, and Washington to Birmingham. Sleepers ran from Washington to New Orleans, Montgomery to New Orleans, Washington to Birmingham, Atlanta to Birmingham, Charlotte to Atlanta, Colombia to Atlanta.

"The Southerner", which was mostly an all-coach streamliner with a Tavern-Observation Coach from New York to New Orleans, a lounge coach from New York to New Orleans, a diner from New York to New Orleans, coaches ran from New York to New Orleans, with one running from New York to Birmingham.

"The Peach Queen" which ran from New York to Atlanta. Coaches ran from Washington to Atlanta, a diner from Washington to Atlanta, and Atlanta to Charlotte. The "Peach Queen" always ran "heavy" with sleepers. There were usually between 8 to 12 sleepers on this train. They ran from New York to Charlotte, New York to Atlanta, Atlanta to New York, Washington to Atlanta, Washington to Charlotte with a connecting sleeper from Richmond,Va to Charlotte.

"The New Yorker" which ran northbound only with coaches from Atlanta to Washington, a diner from Atlanta to Washington, and numerous sleepers from Atlanta to New York and Washington.

Train No. 39 which ran only southbound with sleepers from New York to Winston-Salem, and New York to Durham, Raleigh and coaches from Washington to Atlanta.

The "Birmingham Special" which ran from New York to New Orleans with coaches and sleepers. Coaches ran from Washington to New Orleans, a diner from Roanoke to Birmingham. Sleepers ran from New York to New Orleans, New York to Shreveport, New York to Knoxville, New York to Bristol, New York to Willamson, Washington to New Orleans, and Washington to Roanoke.

"The Pelican" ran from New York to New Orleans. Coaches ran from Washinton to New Orleans, a diner from Roanoke to Birmingham, a cafe-lounge from Jackson to Shreveport (ICRR connection), sleepers to New York to New Orleans, New York to Shreveport, New York to Knoxville, New York to Bristol, New York to Williamson, and New York to Roanoke.

"The Tennessean" which ran from New York to Memphis. A tavern-lounge ran from Washington to Memphis, a doner from Washington to Knoxville, Restaurant-Lounge car from Chattanooga to Memphis, coaches from Washinton to Memphis, with sleepers from New York to Memphis, Washington to Memphis, Bristol to Nashville(NC&Stl) and Knoxville to Memphis, Chattanooga to Memphis.

The "Aiken-Augusta Special" from Washington to Augusta with coaches, diner, and sleepers from New York to Augusta.

"Carolina Special" with coaches from Cincinnati to Asheville and Asheville to Goldsboro, a dinette coach from Asheville to Goldsboro, diner from Knoxville, Asheville, and Charleston, a restuarant-lounge from Cincinnati to Asheville, and sleepers from Chicago, Asheville to Charleston, and Chicago to Goldsboro, Cincinnati to Asheville, and Louisville, Asheville, and Columbia.

"Carolina Special" with coaches Cincinnati to Charleston, a dineer from Knoxville to Charleston, and sleepers from Chicago to Charleston, and Louisville to Columbia.

"The Sunnyland" from Atlanta to Memphis with coaches, a diner, a buffet car, and sleeper from Atlanta to Memphis.

"Ponce de Leon" with coaches from Cincinnati to Jacksonville, Resturant-Lounge from Cincinnati to Jacksonville, sleepers from Cincinnati to Atlanta, and Cincinnati to Jacksonville.

"Royal Palm" from Cincinnati to Miami. Coaches from Detroit to Miami, Cincinnati to Jacksonville, a diner from Cincinnati to Jacksonville, a tavern-lounge coach from Cincinnati to Jacksonville, sleepers from Detroit to Miami, Cleveland to Jacksonville, Chicago to Jacksonville, and Cincinnati to Jacksonville.

The "Skyland Special" from Asheville to Jacksonville with coaches, dinette coach, sleepers from Asheville to Jacksonville and Charlotte to Jacksonville.

The "Kansas City Florida Special" which ran from Kansas City to Miami with coaches from Kansas City to Jacksonville, coaches,Jesup to Brunswick, a diner from Birmingham to Atlanta, a restaurant lounge from Atlanta, and Sleepers from Kansas City to Miami, Kansas City to Jacksonville. This train ran via the Frisco Railroad.
