6 July 1789
This indenture made the 6th day of July Anno Dom. 1789 between Daniel Carnes of the one part and Thomas Pair of the other part, both of Mecklenburg County in the State of North Carolina. Witnesseth that the said Daniel Carnes for & in consideration of the sum of One hundred pounds specie to him in hand paid by the said Thomas Pair, the receipt whereof he the said Daniel Carnes doth hereby acknowledge, he, the said Daniel Carnes hath granted, bargained and sold and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alein and confirm unto him the said Thomas Pair his heirs and assigns forever a tract of land containing 100 acres be it more or less in the County & State aforesaid on the north side of the Waxaw Creek. Beginning at a new line on McCamies line then along McCamies line to Hamilton's corner hickory, then with his line north to a Corner Black Oak, near his other corner, thence to a corner on three Black Jacks, then west to a small White Oak on Ford's line then with said line South to a corner B. O. on Ford's line near the spring branch, then down the branch to the cane branch, down the cane branch to a new corner B. O., then west on a line of new marked trees to the beginning. And also the reversion & reversions, remainder & remainders, rents and services of the said premises & of every part thereof, and all the estates right title interest claim & demand whatsoever of him the said Daniel Carnes of in and to the said the said premises & every part thereof to have and to hold the said messauge or tract of land and all & singular the premises unto the said Thomas Pair, his heirs, executors, administrators & assigns the said messauge or tract of land & premises & every part thereof against him & his heirs & against all and every other person and persons whatsoever to the said Thomas Pair his assigns shall & will warrant & forever defend by these presents according to the true intent & meaning of these presents unto & for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Daniel Carnes hath hereunto set his hand & seal the day and year first above written.

This indenture made the 11th day of October 1789 between Daniel Carnes of the one part and Thomas Pair of the other part, both of Mecklenburg County in the State of North Carolina. Witnesseth that the said Daniel Carnes for & in consideration of the sum of 110 pounds Virginia money to him in hand paid by the said Thomas Pair, the receipt whereof he the said Daniel Carnes doth hereby acknowledge, he, the said Daniel Carnes hath granted, bargained and sold and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alein and confirm unto him the said Thomas Pair his heirs and assigns forever a tract of land containing 320 acres in the County & State being part of Wm King's tract of 640 acres on the north side of the Waxaw Creek beginning at a Black Jack by Jno Crockett's line & runs N25E270 poles to a red oak then with Samuel Lesleys line, from thence to a hickory sapling corner, then S50E 80 poles to a white oak then south 100 poles to a B. O. and then to the beginning. Notice that there is 125 acres taken of the within deed. And also the reversion and reversions, remainder & remainders, rents & services of the said premises and of every part thereof & all the estates rights, title, interest, claim and demand whatsoevery of him the said Daniel Carnes of, in and to the said premises and every part thereof. To have and to hold the said messauge or tract of land and all & singular the premises above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said Thomas Pair, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns the said messauge or tract of land & premises and every part thereof against him and his heirs and against all & every other person & persons whatsoever to the said Thomas Pair his heirs & shall & will warrant and forever defend by these presents the quit rents growing due from the said Thomas Pair his heirs, executors & administrators & from the date of these presents according to the true intent and meaning of these presents unto & for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Daniel Carnes hath set his hand & seal the day & year first above written

This indenture made this 20 the day of August 1791 between Thomas Pair, Senr of the State of North Carolina & Mecklenburg County of the one part & Claborn Pair of the said place of the other part Witnesseth that he the said Thomas Pair for and in consideration of the sum of five shillings currency to him in hand paid by the said Claborn Pair, the receipt whereof the said Thomas Pair doth hereby acknowledge & himself fully satisfied hath bargained, sold, & do by these presents bargain and sell unto the said Claborn Pair a plantation or piece of land containing by computation fifty acres more or less lying & being in the above mentioned county on the North side of the Waxaw Creek. Beginning on Daniel Carnes line on the spring branch, running thence up said branch to the path from my house to said Carnes, thence up said path to a corner W. O. in my field, thence to a new corner tree a W.O., up said Pair's line thence along said Pair's line to Archibald Cousert's line thence on said Cousert's line to a corner & black _______ on the road thence to a R. O. on James Avent's line thence to the beginning which courses is well known as may be made appear by witnesses with all the buildings, fields, orchards, timber, & timber trees, profits, commodities, hereditaments & appurtenances whatsoever of him the said Thomas Pair of in and to the said premises & all deeds, evidences, writing, touching or in any wise concerning the same to have and to hold the fifty acres of land & premises hereby granted unto the said Claborn Peir his heirs and assigns forever and the said Thomas Pier for himself his heirs doth covenant, promise & grant & with the said Claborn his heirs and assigns by these presents that he the said Thomas Pier is siezed of a good, true & indefeasable estate & inheritance in fee simple of in & to the said premises hereby granted at the sealing these presents & that he the said Thomas Pier hath full & lawful authority to grant & convey the same to the said Claborn Pear in manner & form aforesaid & that the said Presents forever shall remain clear and free of & from all former and other gifts, grants and encumbrances whatsoever made, done or suffered by the said Thomas Peir his heirs & assigns forever. In witness whereof the said Thomas Pier hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day & year above written.
