Georgia

Jonny Quest checked the rearview mirror and groaned. "Hadji and Jessie's gonna kill me for being late," he told himself.

He geared up the car and raced through the streets.

But suddenly, he slammed on the brakes, sending the dirt and grime flying on the streets. His mouth was hanging open while he stared outside.

A girl.

No, he corrected himself. A woman. A VERY beautiful woman. Standing on the sidewalk.

She had soft brown hair, tinted with blond, falling on her shoulders. She was wearing a miniskirt, showing off a pair of beautiful legs and knees. She appeared to be waiting…

Jonny rolled down the window and grinned at her. "Wanna ride?"

The woman smiled softly and nodded. Jonny straightened himself, trying to ignore the loud pounding of his heard. She was graceful as she entered closed the door and stared straight ahead.

Jonny began to drive once more. "So, where am I gonna drop you off?" he asked.

The woman shrugged.

"Anywhere?" Jonny asked, encouraging her to talk.

She nodded. Jonny shrugged, satisfied.

What to say, what to say… Jonny had never felt this way before. His heart was pounding against his ears, blocking out the sounds of the other rushing cars. Even if the air-conditioner was turned up high, he was still feeling warm. What a combination!

You're the woman of my dreams, Jonny thought. Then shook his head slightly. Too poignant. And too premature! Hey, I've been searching for you all my life. Where've you been? Nahh…

The woman was staring outside the window.

"My name's Jonny Quest," Jonny started. "I live in the Quest Compound. Do you know that?"

The woman nodded and smiled back. Jonny breathed a sigh of relief. "My dad's Benton Quest. You probably know him. I have two best friends. They're Hadji and Jessie. I'm going to meet them, and I'm late." Then, thinking the woman might have a sensitive conscience, added quickly, "Not that they might care."

She pushed back the strands behind her ear and smiled, relieved.

"It's a nice night, huh?" Jonny asked. His right hand was creeping to her knee and patted it.

She smiled sweetly, as if she didn't mind.

Finally, Jonny couldn't take her silence anymore. "Umm…I've been yakking my head off, and I don't even know your name yet!" He laughed nervously.

The girl looked at him straight in the eye. Then, said in a husky and manly voice, "Georgia."

SCREECH!

The car stopped right beside the sidewalk and "Georgia" knew she -- HE -- had come to her -- HIS! -- destination. He blew a kiss at Jonny and left, grinning

Jonny left, his hands shaking and his dreams shattered.

"Where on earth have you been?!" Jessie asked him in frustration.

Jonny shook his head. "Just…wandering about," he told them in a low voice.

"Is anything wrong my friend?" Hadji asked him.

Jonny shrugged.

"Maybe she met Georgia," Jessie said, smirking.

Jonny's head shot up. "Georgia? Who--?"

"'Georgia' is all over the news, Jonny," Hadji explained. "He's a man dressing as a woman so he can seduce them. Or learn more about them. He is supposedly VERY beautiful as a woman, and has victimized many people -- Jonny? Jonny? Why are you turning green?"
