Sets of Preparatory Drills
Last week, I started another run to break the world dribbling record. By the way, I hold the current record of dribbling five basketballs simultaneously. I have divided the record run into six rounds starting with three baketballs as a set up. Each round will take approximately one week to complete. That is learn, master, perfect, then develop good rhythm and coordination to allow me to do 60 repetitions without faulting.

Since I can already dribble five basketballs, it should not take along time to get over the first three rounds. I will once again use both my hands and feet.

Round #1

Three basketballs (hand singles)
  1. Right-hand single (left & right-foot)
  2. Feet dribbling (left & right-foot)
  3. Right-hand single alternating (same & cross-feet)
  4. Out-place right-hand dribbling
  5. left-hand single (left & right-foot)
  6. Both-feet alternating (same & cross-feet)
  7. Right-hand single alternating (same & cross-feet)
  8. Out-place left-hand dribbling
This is the first set of drills which I use to set-up the rhythm for four, five, and six hand and feet dribling. I have already gone past this round though.

Round #2,& 3

I will add rounds 2 & 3 tomorrow. Please, visit us again tomorrow for these updates including those of round5 later.

Round #4

  1. Four balls single across(rhythm & alternating)
  2. Four balls right-hand double
  3. Three balls right hand single (left & Right-foot)
  4. Four balls hand dribbling rhythm
  5. Four balls left-hand double
  6. Three balls left hand single (left & right-foot)
  7. Four balls hand dribbling alternating
  8. Four balls single across (alternating)
Very difficult drill at the beginning. I had thought about it last year, however, it was to hard to even attempt. Anyway, this time, I have no option but to do it.

Round 4b

  1. Four balls double-double (left-side)
  2. Three balls right-hand double(Right-foot)
  3. Four balls double-double (left-side)
  4. Four balls left-hand double
  5. Three balls left hands double (left-foot)
  6. Four balls double-double (left-side)
  7. Three balls hands double(alternating)
I made these adjustments to help speed up the rhythm and coordination for the left-side which is lagging behind in the development.

Round 4c

  1. Four balls single across
  2. Four balls double-double (right-side)
  3. Three balls right-hand feet double(l,r,alt)
  4. Rhythm hand dribbling (four balls)
  5. Four balls double-double (left-side)
  6. Three balls left-hands feet double (l,r, & alt)
  7. Alternating hand dribbling (four balls)
  8. Four balls single across
I made this adjustment to improve ball control on both sides.

Round #5 Drills

  1. Four balls single across (rhythm)(50)
  2. Five balls right double
  3. Four balls right double (left, right, & both-feet) (20)
  4. Four balls hand dribbling (rhythm)
  5. Five balls left-hand double
  6. Four balls left-hand double(left, right & both-feet)
  7. Four balls hand dribbling (alternating)
  8. Four balls single across (alternating)

Round #5b Drills

  1. Four balls single across (rhythm)(50)
  2. Four balls double-double (right-hand)
  3. Five balls right double
  4. Four balls right double (left & both-feet) (25)
  5. Four balls hand dribbling (rhythm)
  6. Four balls single scross (alternating)
  7. Four balls double-double (left-hand)
  8. Five balls left-hand double
  9. Four balls left-hand double(left & both-feet)
  10. Four balls hand dribbling (alternating)
  11. Four balls double-double (left-hand)
I made these changes because even after 18 sets over the recommended sets, I have not got the rhythm and coordination which will allow me to graduate to round6. The dribbling is still very light and I don't have ball control. Main areas that need extra work are the left-foot (right side) and hands on the left side. This should at least correct the problem for now.

Round #6 Drills

  1. Four balls single across (rhythm)(50)
  2. Six balls double across
  3. Five balls right double (left, right, & both-feet)(20)
  4. Four balls hand dribbling (rhythm)
  5. Six balls double across
  6. Five balls left-hand double(left, right & both-feet)
  7. Four balls hand dribbling (alternating)
  8. Four balls single across (alternating)
This round here is the actual record run. All the other rounds were designed to get me here. Can't wait to start doing it.

Round #6F Drills

This is the Final Round 6
  1. Four balls single across (rhythm)
  2. Six balls single foot (right)
  3. Four balls hands dribbling (rhythm)
  4. six balls both-feet (alt)
  5. Four balls single across (alternating)
  6. Six balls single foot (leftt)
  7. Four balls hands dribbling (alternating)
  8. six balls both-feet (alt))
